Trainer

My first professional calling was that of a teacher, trainer and motivator. I taught high school English from 1986-95, while coaching football, basketball, baseball, drama and forensics. The school districts in which I worked contrasted sharply: large urban, small city, and rural. As a result, I've mentored people from widely diverse social and ethnic backgrounds. I take pride in writing my own curricula and tailoring my teaching, training and motivational strategies to the specific needs of my students. In addition to classroom teaching, I've also trained dozens of fundraisers for a variety of progressive political organizations. In the 1980s, as a securities and commodities broker with NYSE member firms, I conducted a series of popular investment seminars.
